A Case Study Linking Migraines and Vertigo

Dr. Lenarz of the Blair Upper Cervical Chiropractic Society released a case report, in which they showed additional evidence to support the theory that there is a link between migraines and vertigo to head and neck trauma.

In his report, he talked about a 54 year old female patient who suffered from migraines one to two times every week. She had also suffered from extreme chronic neck pain and vertigo for the last 10 years, which coincided with a vehicular accident she suffered at that time.

Over the 12 weeks following her initial evaluation by Dr. Lenarz, she was seen 19 times. She only required three adjustments to her upper cervical spine during that time. She only reported one migraine after her initial examination, which she suffered two weeks after her first adjustment. She also reported that she experienced no migraines, neck pain, or vertigo after that initial adjustment.

Upright MRIs and Cerebrospinal Fluid Flow

Dr. Raymond Damadian, the inventor of the MRI published some incredible research utilizing an upright MRI machine. The research revealed that a misalignment in the upper neck alters the flow of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) to, from, and through brain. That's important to know because CSF is the oil of the brain, it lubricates the brain and the spinal cord.

Once they are able to see those variables, they are able to go a step further and make any needed adjustments to the upper cervical spine. This relieves the pressure and relieves the pressure so the CSF flow can normalize.
