Trigeminal Neuralgia Treatment and Relief In Boise Idaho

My work with Dr. Blom started in June 2015. I was experiencing excruciating pain in my teeth and the right side of my face. I had been to my primary care physician; placed on antibiotics for a sinus infection. With no relief I went to yet another family practice physician and placed on "more powerful" antibiotics for... you guessed it a sinus infection... to no avail. I was referred to an Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist and put on yet ANOTHER even MORE powerful antibiotic... to NO avail. UGH.
MRI and CT scans were ordered to rule out tumors or other abnormalities in my brain. OK, things are getting scary now... in the meantime no relief. Brushing my teeth was agonizing, smiling was nearly impossible, a simple breeze made me cringe. The final diagnosis was found... YAY, right? Hmmm. Trigeminal Neuralgia.
So, course of action: drugs. Tegritol with a list of side effects as long as my right arm and blood tests every 3 weeks to make sure I was not killing my liver. Result: relief, weight gain and massively elevated liver counts. Second try: Clobazam with the same and added side effects. Not only that but eventually these drugs stop working so they just keep raising the dose and on and on it goes. The obvious next step was surgery where they simply cut a hole in your skull about the size of a half dollar, your 5th cranial nerve is exposed and wrapped in Teflon and you are good to go until the Teflon wears away and then yep, you get to do it again.
Desperate for relief and scared to death of brain surgery I scoured the internet for anything I could find on trigeminal neuralgia. I found Upper Cervical Heath Centers of America.
Dr. Blom was courteous, professional and thorough from the beginning. He answered all my questions in a way that I could understand. I felt relief after my very first treatment. I am no longer on ANY medications and am pain free. With continued treatment and evaluation my future has never felt better.
I cannot recommend this practice with any more enthusiasm. Dr. Blom and his staff have truly given me my life back. I will never be able to thank him enough.
