A Testimonial
My name is Teri Fairchild, I just moved to the area from Idaho Falls about 7 months ago. I want to write a testimonial to Dr. Blom’s upper cervical care. Please know I am not here to sell you something or convince you of anything from Dr.Blom, his work will speak for itself. I would like to give you a background on my health and how I got here. I will give you a list of things I have gone through. Just a list by itself will not explain in its entirety the DAILY struggles I have had for 4 years prior to Dr. Blom treating the subluxation in my spine/neck.
I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2015. I have had severe migraines since puberty that would last weeks at a time. So, what slowly started out as TMJ, Migraines and then MS, also turned into a daily battle with severe nerve pain in my neck. For the past 2.5 years these nerve pain episodes gradually got worse and worse. My MS doctor has prescribed nerve pain medication that helps alleviate the severity of the pain. Growing up my migraines, would be at a level of 8 or 9 on the 1 to 10 pain scale. What I began to experience in recent years, is what I call, a level 11 on the pain scale. When these “episodes” would be triggered either by stress or hormones, I would panic. I lived with my Rizatriptan and Nortriptyline near by incase the episodes would appear. I was in so much pain that I contemplated how to end my life, just to make the pain stop. I started exploring EVERY option to try to fix the problem.
I went to a TMJ specialist that wanted to break my jaw and stitch it up for 60 days – but not guaranteed to work to stop the migraines. I would usually get these nerve episodes AFTER I woke up from sleeping and would feel more exhausted than the day before. We bought like 15 different EXPENSIVE pillows to try to help. I began using a CPAP at night for Sleep Apnea. The nerve episodes seemed to increase after using the headgear. I stopped using the CPAP. It became almost impossible to breathe at night without the CPAP, so I slept in our living room recliner for months. We got a new adjustable bed, so I would stop sleeping on my side and hurting my neck. The nerve episodes/migraines began to increase with frequency. When the episodes would hit, I would completely shut down, have to stop what I was doing, cry and want to die. I went to an ENT doctor to look into a way he could fix my airway, so I never had to wear the head gear again. I opted out of that barbaric surgery option, and again wasn’t guaranteed to fix my problem. I was at point where I thought I would just have to live this way for the rest of my life.
Work was a challenge; I started working from home so I could “nap” through the migraines and manage my doctor appointments. I tried many doctors to help manage my hormones because the nerve migraines would inevitably hit twice a month during my two cycles. Exercising was not always possible because the migraines would leave me motionless and exhausted. The migraines were affecting EVERY aspect of my life. I started researching the neck and all its structures. I started to research chiropractors. I went to two chiropractors and no change in the nerve migraines because they were not targeting the spot where the problem was.
I started seeing Dr. Blom in November 2020. What he described to me about my subluxation and the process we were about to go through to heal was exciting, but in the back of my mind I was still skeptical. I have had only three adjustments since coming to see Dr. Blom and I feel so much better! I have not had a migraine since my first adjustment. I am still in the healing process and I do get headaches but not my usual debilitating migraines or the nerve episodes. I can think clearer, have hope for my future and now, focus on other aspects of my health. When before, I had no energy to do anything. I sleep better and with my CPAP, I can go to overnight stays at places without panicking about the nerve migraine in the morning ruining my trip. My work has improved, and I have gone to full time work. My moods are so much happier and more consistent because I am not miserable in pain anymore. I am starting to exercise again. I feel more in control of well being than I have in years.
I will say that Dr. Blom is remarkable. What he is doing is trail blazing an avenue of health that has not been consistently done before. He changed my life. I am so grateful for his knowledge and his charisma about helping others. It is truly inspiring. I plan on Dr. Blom helping me to maintain my health for as long as he will let me 😊.
So many thanks!
