As you are probably well aware Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic, potentially debilitating disease that affects the brain, brain stem and spinal cord. Multiple Sclerosis (MS) affects more than one million people around the world. This disease is unpredictable and varies in severity, from a mild illness in some patients to a permanent disability in others.
Some of the newest and most relevant research on upper cervical care has demonstrated a link between Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and the upper cervical spine (upper neck). A study published in 2005 revealed that 100% of the patients with Multiple Sclerosis had a history of upper neck injuries whether months old or years old.
Another recently published case study has shown that correction of upper neck injuries may reverse the progression of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) symptoms. Dr. Erin Elster, an upper cervical chiropractor, performed the research. Through the use of upper cervical care, Dr. Elster corrected chronic upper neck injuries in a Multiple Sclerosis (MS) patient, which may have stimulated a reversal of his MS symptoms. These results have been duplicated in upper cervical health centers across the country and have shown the same promising results.
Dr. Elster’s report was published in the Journal of Vertebral Subluxation Research. It stated that, “According to medical research, head and neck injuries have long been considered a cause of Multiple Sclerosis. But this is the first research to show that correction of those injuries can have dramatic effects on reversing MS.”

Atlas Misalignment & Multiple Sclerosis
You must also consider the relationship between your head and the upper two neck bones. This imbalance of the head on the spine not only puts pressure on the nerves that go through the upper neck, it can also disrupt how the blood and CSF (cerebrospinal fluid) flow in and out of the head. In addition a misalignment in the upper spine will create a global problem in the spine below and in many cases over time you can develop any of the following: headaches, neck pain, shoulder pain or lower back pain.
Now, let's think back for a moment, as far back as 10-15-20 years.
Have you ever been in a car accident?
Have you had any slips or falls?
Have you had any work injuries?
Have you had any sports injuries?
Have you ever experienced any trauma (minor or major)?
If the answer is YES to any one of these then you should be checked for a misalignment of one of the upper two neck bones!
