What Is The Most Commonly Overlooked CAUSE of Chronic Headaches, and Migraine Pain?
A Previous Injury To The Head or Neck!

First, is because of the brain stem. The brain stem, which acts like a switch board operator between the brain and the body with hundreds of thousands of individual wires or nerve fibers sending signals back and forth between the brain and the body. The average person is unaware of the fact that the brain stem is coordinating virtually everything in your entire body. An injury to the head and/or neck can cause misalignment of the upper two neck bones (upper cervical spine), and it’s these injuries resulting in head and neck misalignment that can then affect the function of the brain stem. At this point symptoms will start to develop slowly over time.
Dr. Seymour Diamond, Executive Director of the National Headache Foundation, has identified what he believes is the cause of Migraine pain: A MALFUNCTIONING BRAIN STEM. When one of the top two neck bones misaligns compressing the brain stem (exiting the floor of the skull at the top the neck), it malfunctions, the blood supply at the brain stem level gets interrupted creating a situation where the blood vessels surrounding the brain become irritated and swollen, setting up a chain reaction that results in a migraine headache.
Secondly, is because of body imbalance. A trauma to the upper neck can cause a shift in the relationship of the head and neck. This imbalance of the head on the spine not only puts pressure on the nerves that go into the head and face, it also causes the muscles at the base of the skull to draw up and tighten producing what is known as “Cervicogenic Headaches.” These Cervicogenic Headaches have been found to be the primary cause of many headache sufferers pain, even if there is little or no pain present in the neck.
I want you to think back for a second, maybe 5, 10, 15, or even 20+ years back. Have you ever been in a car accident? Have you ever had any sports injuries? Have you ever had any slips or falls? These are some of the most common types of injuries that can injury the upper neck. If you answered yes to any of these, you may be suffering from headaches as a result of an old injury to your upper neck.
