The term cervicogenic headache when broken down literally means headache created by the neck. This is a very common type of headache that stems from a previous injury to the neck. The pain patterns for this type of headache can be very different from one case to the next. This type of headache refers pain from the neck to some area of the head. It should be noted that there are numerous structures in the cervical spine particularly in the upper neck that can and do refer pain. We have found over the years that most headaches stem from upper neck dysfunction and relief can be had naturally from correction of upper neck dysfunction.
So How Do You Know If You Have A Cervicogenic Headache?
The most common symptoms are headache with neck pain and stiffness. A cervicogenic headache will almost always be on one side of the head only, and the pain will start in the upper neck region and it can travel onto the back of the head, it can travel onto the side of the head and almost always into some area of the face, or eye.
